White Lady

You might notice that I’m a big fan of lemon-based, frothy egg white cocktails, regardless of the base spirit. So the White Lady is no exception.

Originally created in London with a set of ingredients that didn’t quite win patrons over, it was reconstructed at Harry’s Bar in Paris to much greater fanfare. It’s very similar to a classic sour, but uses Grand Marnier as the sweetener instead of simple syrup, adding some orange layers and botanicals. Try it out and let me know what you think!

WHITE LADY

2 oz Gin
1/2 oz Grand Marnier
1/2 oz Lemon Juice
1 oz egg white

Dry shake the egg white, then add ice and the remaining ingredients and shake for 10 seconds. Double-strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with a lemon zest.
