Eggnog White Russian

I’ve never been an eggnog person (still not) so just typing this recipe seems crazy. But it’s the Holidays and for some inexplicable reason, there’s a magic that happens rendering any undesirable concoction to be potentially yummy.

Eggnog is one such thing. A regular white Russian made with whole cream is already pretty desirable - not to mention indulgent - during the Holidays, but when you add eggnog… The whole experience is elevated entirely. Don’t believe me? Try it yourself. I dare you not to make those moaning noises after the first sip. Go on. Dare ya.

A note on my recipe below. You can play around with the booziness by adding more vodka - there have been many riffs on the White Russian cocktail in general. But I prefer mine to be more coffee forward and with the added cinnamon stick, the whole experiences makes it more balanced.

EGGNOG WHITE RUSSIAN

2 shots Kahlua (or other coffee liqueur)
1 shot Vodka
2 shots eggnog
Freshly grated nutmeg to garnish

Put Kahlua and Vodka in a shaker glass filled with ice. Shake for 15 seconds and strain into a brandy glass. Pour the eggnog over the glass and garnish with nutmeg. Add cinnamon sticks and a couple of coffee beans if you’re feeling fancy. (Seriously, it actually makes a difference to the nose when you sip it). Enjoy! xx
