Amaretto Sour

I love a good sour. Especially when the base spirit is bourbon.

But sometimes you’ll want to mix it up and add some nuttiness with a liqueur like Amaretto - a sweet Italian liqueur that’s made from apricot or peach stones, plus bitter almonds. For this version, I make mine less sweet, but still with enough Amaretto to get that almond flavour that I love. So you be your own judge!

AMARETTO SOUR

1 1/2 shots of Bourbon Whiskey (Bulleit or similar)
1 shot of Amaretto (Disaronno or similar brand)
3/4 shot of freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/6 shot of simple syrup
3/4 shot of egg white

Dry shake the egg white first (no ice). Then add ice, plus the rest of the ingredients, and shake again. Double strain into an old fashioned glass and garnish with a couple of maraschino cherries. Enjoy! xx
