The LAB art show is a semi-annual exhibition featuring different styles of art, from short film and music to audiovisuals, painting, sculpture, acting, contemporary dance, animation, fashion and more. On Saturday, the LAB art show was held at The Roundhouse Community Centre in Yaletown in downtown Vancouver featuring over 100 artists and 450 pieces of artwork, all on one night.

I was blown away by the amount of talent we have in this city; and that this is the best time to snap up artwork from an emerging artist before they become big and you get priced out of your range. For myself, I had fallen in love with a couple of abstract paintings and some amazing photography. Models covered in body paint had photogs on site drooling at every stride and glance; meanwhile the packed crowd at the Roundhouse sipped on wine and cocktails while catching up with old friends - and making new ones - all in the name of art as a live band played in the background. It was all so very civilized, and for Vancouver, a step in the right direction to support local artists!
