The festive season continues! For those looking to escape from the busy, frenetic pace that the holidays bring, one can look no further than the cozy warmth of the lounge and dining room at Hawksworth Restaurant in downtown Vancouver. Bar Manager Josh Nidzgorski developed a new cocktail menu perfect for the holiday season, blending beloved Hawksworth classics together with new, modern options showcasing the latest techniques and flavours.

Their cocktail presentations are sure to please. If you’re there - order The Last Campfire - an absolute showpiece that combines Maker’s Mark and Grant’s blended scotch, together with Angostura bitters and lavender. Served in a 12-inch glass cloche filled with cherry wood smoke, it’ll be like you suddenly got transported to Whistler. Kid you not, this drink is spectacular - if you’re only ordering one (heaven forbid, why?) then make it this one.

If you want to stay tried and true, and in particular love frothy cocktails like I do (egg white is my jam), then the legendary Hotel Georgia cocktail with Beefeater gin, lemon, almond and egg white is sure to please.

For those who wish to enjoy without the alcohol, they also offer a zero-proof menu that’s so delicious you definitely won’t be missing the booze factor. Order the Time Release Cranberry Soda - it looks like a science experiment. Lime, cranberry juice and elderflower cordial are frozen into small ice spheres, and is served with hyper carbonated Topo Chico mineral water that slowly melts the ice, revealing flavours with every sip. It’s a fun and healthier option. If you’re in need of a cocktail on the regular menu but can’t afford the additional alcohol, zero-proof versions of select cocktails can also be made upon request. Now isn’t that swell?

Hawksworth Restaurant is open weekly for dinner starting at 5 pm, and for lunch on weekdays from 11:30 am - 2 pm, with brunch offered on weekends from 10:30 pm - 2 pm. Catch cocktail hour everyday from 4 pm - 6 pm.

One more thing - when you’re in the lounge, ask for the seaweed chips. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.
