Meetings at Gastown's Chill Winston offered perfect refuge from the torrential downpour yesterday.

Honestly, there are days when you just wanna get out of the house. Most times I love working from home and the luxury that it affords - a PJ uniform, grabbing a coffee without paying through the nose and taking a nap when you feel like it. Ok, I lie. I never take naps - I hate them - but it's nice to know that I can do that whenever I want.

But then there are days when you just want to feel human again; to brush your teeth and take a shower and put on actual clothes that can see the light of day.

Yesterday was one of those days and it was a good thing that I was starting to feel like myself again after nearly passing out from exhaustion and the flu. I had a number of meetings in Gastown so that meant I had to at least look somewhat decent.

Gastown is a strange place where both locals and tourists mingle and chill - among themselves and not together. I decided to hold my meetings at Chill Winston - I mean, what's not to love? A bottle of wine, some great discussions, key decisions made - and voila! There goes an afternoon, just like that! And then it bleeds into Happy Hour and everyone's having a great time! We sat next to the window, which gave us some fantastic moody light of the photo above but also gave us the perfect refuge and perch to look outside at the gross, pouring rain.

What do you think? Have you ever held meetings at a restaurant or lounge that you love? Do you find it more productive when working in that environment?
