Yep, I'm picking up the paint brush again. And this time it's not for the design company that I co-own (Joue Design) but for me - and my sanity! It's funny, but I used to do this on a weekly basis over 10 years ago (along with photography) before my marriage went down the shitter and then I forgot all about it. When I'm designing textiles I don't think of painting the same way because it's all part of a design process. You conceptualize and draft up ideas over and over until you come up with something you're happy with that would work on a particular type of textile, matched with certain trims, etc. And the challenging (and fun) part is doing it with someone else - so it's never entirely your thing.

When I paint for myself though, there are no boundaries, no concepts, no color themes to follow for the current design season. And that's refreshing - particularly when work becomes so busy (juggling a day job, owning two companies and this blog does add up!). So once in a while I'll post stuff here that I paint. I suppose the more I paint it only means the more stressed I am! HAHA! Anyways, such is life and mine is colourful!
