Ready to Wear Fall 2015 - Recap: Zac Posen

Zac Posen, a favorite of red-carpet A-listers, is at his best when creating old school, Mad Men looks. Each of the outfits could easily transition from runway onto the set of that iconic show. Imagine Peggy in a fun, orange jersey dress while Joan shines in a 50's sweater over a sequined skirt that shows off her fine form. There is such appeal in creating wearable (read: comfortable) pieces like flattering those jersey dresses and skinny pants - with the former in sharp colors of plum, orange and black. Each nip and pin tuck is perfectly placed - whether it's pencil skirts, cardigans or trousers. Luxe details like sequins and beading together with extensive use of cashmere provide a quiet confidence that doesn't need to be showy, even if his shows are just that - as evidenced by every A-lister sitting in the Front Row.

One of my favorite pieces was a simple cinched column gown adorned with a green vertical bead trimmed to perfection. And having Naomi Campbell close out the show capped off a fantastic evening.
